Another possibility is giving the textbook to someone else, to an organization (like a charity or a library), or to a company or student who may be able to use the educational information conveyed by the book’s chapters. Imagine how pleased a college pupil would be when given such literature. It has been my experience, and surely the experience of many, that new and used college textbooks have great educational value. As discussed earlier, to sell textbooks does not necessarily mean that the books weren’t helpful or useful and that “selling” was only a choice to get rid of the books quickly; rather those books may have provided a great deal of knowledge, were extremely useful, and may now provide even more usefulness enabled by the possibility of a sale (conversion to cash) of such a book, so that the chance of future college textbook purchases is made even more probable. Many college reference materials have dynamic pictures, illustrations, diagrams, and graphs that prove to be excellent study aids for students, particularly when studying for a test or exam, as they may be great memory triggers.
